This is why I continue to speak out on creationism in the Christadelphian community
Given that early Christians did not have our scientific understanding of the universe, it's trivial to note that it does not matter from a salvation point of view whether we accept evolution, the great age of the earth, geocentrism or even whether the earth is spherical. However, when our community paints a huge target on itself, it should not be surprised when it receives adverse attention on high traffic sites like Reddit. Salvation may not be contingent on accepting evolution, but remaining a credible witness to the Christian faith does require us not to make pseudoscience a first principle. That alone is reason enough for our community to reject young earth creationism and evolution denialism in general.
